He's actually not too bad at the vocals either, needs some work but I've seen a vid of him singing Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman and he wasn't bad. With training, it is possible to do it, it's all about exercise and using your vocal folds differently.

Being a female impersonator does not imply that he is or is not gay. He might be, I have no idea. Also, a lot of transvestites are actually straight, ie they like girls. Try not to confuse TVs with drag queens, eh, they are different. :-)
